El Hospital con Alma.
This is a private and non-profit Hospital founded in 1970. In keeping with technological advances, it provides comprehensive medical care in bone marrow, liver and kidney transplantation, cancer treatment including radiotherapy, brachytherapy, chemotherapy, surgical oncology and palliative care; besides orthopedics, bariatric surgery, and minimally invasive surgery, among others. It has more than 330 beds; during 2010 it recorded 12,093 hospital discharges and 93,100 medical consultations, made possible by the collaboration of 285 medical specialists.
Its large staff serve under the motto "El hospital con alma" (The hospital with soul), and its work has been recognized nationally and internationally. During the last two years, it has appeared in the America Economia magazine ranking of the best hospitals in Latin America. It is the first hospital in Colombia to receive Accreditation with Excellence and currently, it is in the process of obtaining international accreditation with the Joint Commission International "JCI."
