San Vicente Fundacion University Hospital is a private and non-profit institution with 98 years of experience in high complexity service provision. It leads in Colombia, and throughout the world in performing liver, kidney, tracheal, and intestinal transplantations.

It has 648 beds, 18 operating rooms, 6 Intensive Care Units, and 5 Intermediate Care Units. The 98 years of service experience, together with the hospital's scale have favored its knowledge development and have led to its position today as a referral institution not only nationally but also internationally. This is evidenced by its leadership in performing complex procedures such as organ transplantations and the recognition of its specialists and staff at international level in different academic scenarios. Its international presence is also demonstrated by the international patient care program which was established to open its doors to other markets, and its recognition by international insurers as part of their service providers worldwide network.

Understanding the importance of participating in the context of market globalization and supporting its vocation as an open door institution, the San Vicente Foundation has opened a new hospital in Rionegro, Antioquia. This is the areas with the greatest export potential in the Andean region. This new hospital will provide the highest standards of care and safety to all its patients. The hospital is also seeking LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, Green Building Rating System™) granted by the Joint Commission International, in order to be recognized as an organization committed to sustainability and the environment. This new hospital was declared a Special Permanent Free Trade Zone, with all the responsibilities and benefits that this entails. It is looking to perform competitively at the global level, both in export and import of products and services related to hospital activities.
