The Clinica Universitaria Bolivariana is an institution that provides health services at all levels of care, with special emphasis on medium and high complexity. It is part of the social and academic project at the Pontificia Bolivariana University, and has more than 75 years of experience in the field of higher education in Colombia. Its vocation as a university clinic is the result of the University’s policy to contribute effectively in the processes of teaching and research, and to holistically educate the health professionals required by society.
The Clinic is a high complexity university health care provider institution, with over 700 employees of which 597 are full-time employees. It has 187 beds and seven operating rooms. It offers services of hospitalization, surgery, emergency, intensive care, outpatient, laboratory and imaging, and prevention programs. The Clinic handles an average of 4,500 births, 13,700 discharges, 7,000 surgeries, 30,000 emergency consultations and 45,000 specialist consultations per year, among others. We are leaders in neonatal and maternity services in Colombia.
On April 21, 2010 Medellin's Secretary of Health recognized the Clinic for implementing and carrying out quality processes and for its health team's compliance to Safe Motherhood standards and guidelines.
