The Hospital General de Medellin is a government social enterprise, at municipal level, which provides high complexity health services focused on patient safety by providing warmth, trust, and satisfaction and by promoting good environmental and quality practices.
It has 409 beds in the inpatient service in a variety of specialties including cardiology, general surgery, plastic surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, internal medicine, pulmonology, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics, and pediatrics.
The Hospital also provides intermediate care, adult critical care, and pediatric and neonatal care. The Hospital provides adult care, obstetric and gynecological care as well as pediatric emergency services 24 hours a day, with uninterrupted availability of all basic and high complexity specialties. It has eight modern operating rooms. The Imaging Department has digital and state-of-the-art technological diagnostic aids.
